MUNICH – Irmin and Benedict Rodenstock, the founders of UNPAINTED, the platform for digital art, were praised as key figures of the young Munich art scene in an article published in the Viennese art magazine PARNASS in autumn 2019. Together with the Kunstclub13, a non-profit art club, author Silvie Langen cited UNPAINTED as an important initiative to promote young art, especially digital art out of Munich:

[Benedict Rodenstock] and his wife, Irmin Rodenstock Beck, are among the key figures in the young scene. So it was also their idea to found an international platform for the mediation of digital art with UNPAINTED in 2013, which organized exhibitions and especially the first fair for media art. “We wanted to attract more attention to digital art as the most contemporary art genre and present it as a matter of course to collectors and art lovers in the digital age with a trade fair format,” explains Rodenstock. “Unlike other art fairs, UNPAINTED not only admits art galleries, but also artists without gallery connections – and also online.”
