GENERATIVE ART CREATED WITH REAL LIFE CELLS DATA TO SUPPORT AGE DISEASES RESEARCH WITH SENS RESEARCH FOUNDATION
VI7A LIVE CELLS EXPERIENCE
VI7A is a digital Bio-Art NFT collection designed by UNPAINTED artist Solimán López that takes the unprecedented step in connecting live entities to blockchain technology and NFTs (non-fungible tokens).
Through this novel approach, a new NFT will be dynamically generated as it is fed by cell cultures in vivo at the SENS Research Foundation’s Research Center in Silicon Valley.
Using technology developed by the Department of Electronic Technology–University of Seville/Seville Institute of Microelectronics-CSIC, living cells in a culture dish will be monitored in real-time with electrodes and an oscilloscope.
From this system, a new NFT series associated with a SENS research project and disease focus will be issued weekly for the next seven weeks, with one unique NFT minted every minute, creating a dynamic portrait of the live cell culture. This NFT video portrait will also contain different datasets fed live digitally which will be recorded into the one-of-a-kind NFT in perpetuity.
As part of the Web3-style gamification, NFT owners will also earn SENS tokens, enabling them to vote for one of the seven scientific project strands for which they wish to see more funding. Users will make history by acquiring these unique live-culture/auto-generative NFT artworks, with the aim of also making age-related disease history.
VI7A proposes a new way of thinking about the blockchain and its relationship with nature, humanity, and the microcosmos. With the collaboration between Solimán López and the SENS Research Foundation scientists, the project will connect real data from cell cultures and makes the blockchain a witness to living history.
