Manuela Hartel: reverberation structure

On Sunday, September 11, 2022 I 15:00 – 22:00, the 1st Culture Day will take place at the old gasworks site in Augsburg, Bavaria, where artist Manuela Hartel will present her new work reverberation structure.

For reverberation structure, Manuela Hartel deals with the structure of an acoustic phenomenon: reverberation, sound and echo. In her video/space and sound installation, she gives this phenomenon a skin by setting static structures of space recordings in motion. Hartel: “In my imagination, the universe is transformed from anechoic space into an echo chamber, in which the sound produced by humans resonates in infinite expanses.” Through visual embodiment of the sound in the echo chamber of the large disc gas container, you not only hear and see, but you experience a universal sense of space.
