Munich – UNPAINTED artist Birthe Blauth is currently exhibiting 15 works from her series “Celestial Bodies” as well as 2 samples of the “Pillars of the Cosmos“. For the Celestial Bodies, individual shapes were extracted from image noise and copied and rotated several times. This was done in analogy to how a cell multiplies and thus a new organism is created. Light and shadow merge the forms into a unity, a fantastic star in the realm of possibilities. There will also be a video and some material samples of the exhibition project for the St Elisabeth Church in Kassel, Germany., where Birthe Blauth won the artistic competition for the design during the next Documenta. “The Celestial Bodies with their ethereal atmosphere must be seen in peace in real life,” says the artist.

In the Pillars Of The Cosmos the design and ordering principle of reflection is used to create meaning. Noise alone – image noise, white noise, any noise – makes no sense to us, because we cannot see any meaningful order in it. The mirroring changes this immediately. Mirror symmetry is one of the main concepts in nature and culture.
Birthe Blauth deals with the patterns and laws according to which we perceive, structure our environment and develop our culture. This also includes how natural laws and structures came into being in the first place, whether the world could also be completely different and whether and what freedom we have within these structures.
Until the end of November, the inclined art lover Birthe Blauth can view Blauth’s works live in Munich. Appointment by appointment. The location will be announced after registration.
